Not Able to Delete Folder in Windows 7? Follow These Simple Steps.

You want to delete folder and not able to do that and get error "you need permission to perform this action" in windows 7? Then you can do few change as mention below and try to delete folder and it will work.



Here is steps to follow.

  1. Right click on folder.
  2. Select "properties"
  3. Click on "security" tab
  4. Click on "Advanced" button
  5. Click on "owner" tab
  6. Click on "Edit" button
  7. Under 'change owner to' Select your user account you wish to make as a owner.
  8. Check the 'replace owner on subcontainers and objects' box
  9. click the 'apply' and then 'ok' button.
Now close all properties window and open properties again. Now follow below steps.
  1. Right click on folder.
  2. Select "properties"
  3. Click on "security" tab
  4. Click on "Advanced" button
  5. Click on "Change permissions" button
  6. Select your user account you need to change permissions for.
  7. Check the box "replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object"
  8. Click 'apply' then click 'yes' in pop up window and then click 'ok'.
Now close all tab witch is open and try to delete the folder.
